Over the years, Myrtle Beach Speedway has been the training grounds for some of NASCAR’s biggest stars including Dale Earnhardt Jr. (former late model stock car competitor) and Jeff Gordon (former Busch Series track record holder). All four generations of Petty's and all three generations of Earnhardt's have taken a green flag around the .538 mile asphalt oval.
Myrtle Beach Speedway is hands down the best value for the entertainment dollar in town. No where else on the Grand Strand can you watch live racing action and see the future stars of NASCAR every Saturday night. In addition to our weekly racing schedule, we hold several major events during the year including our year ending Seneca 400 weekend in November.

Hall of Heroes

Sands Ocean Resorts

Sands Resorts' new Hall of Heroes in The Rawcliffe Center at Ocean Dunes/Sand Dunes Resort & Villas is dedicated to paying tribute to all those who have protected our freedom.  The centerpiece of the Hall of Heroes exhibit is a scaled replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, complete with all 58,253 names.  Other displays include Founding Documents, Information about Each War/Conflict, a Korean War Display, a Flag Display, and educational information on wars and those who fought them.

The second largest part of the tribute is a Gold Dog Tag Display honoring those that died in hostile action from the end of the Vietnam War until 9-11, as well as those who have died in the Global War on Terror. Each gold dog tag is inscribed with Name, Rank, Branch of Service, Date of Casualty and Location.

Sands Resorts is dedicated to paying tribute to the men and women who have made our country great and will always provide a service and atmosphere that promotes and enhances the American Spirit and fosters a dedication to freedom for all. The Hall of Heroes is designed to celebrate the Freedom given to us by all the men and women represented throughout the history of our country and its conflicts.  The Hall of Heroes is currently open to the public, free of charge, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment on the weekends.  For additional information, or to schedule a tour, call 800-840-2601 or 843-692-5265.
